Following expulsion from the Old City, Halva Kingdom embarks on a journey to find a new home and lands in the bustling Shuk Machane Yehuda, where it still lives today

The family kitchen is bursting at its’ seams and a modern factory takes it place. Creativity Booms!

2010

Halva Kingdom grows into a pillar of Machane Yehuda, offering 60 flavors of halva. Tourists and locals alike flock to the Shuk for a glimpse of the legendary Halva Kingdom.

2012

King of Tahini is born, expanding the Halva Kingdom family!

Our Secret

Our secret is simple! We use only the highest quality raw materials, no compromises!
Our products are made exclusively from premium Ethiopian Humera sesame seeds.

Long before ‘slow cooking’ became a trend, we were producing superior quality products using a slow and meticulous cooking process. Our seeds are roasted over gas-powered flames (rather than the conventional steam), following traditional methods. The seeds are then ground by the authentic process of grind-stoning. Although this method is 10 times slower than industrial grinding methods, it produces the intense flavor unique to Open Sesame products.

Tahini and Halva are both made from sesame seeds, which has loads of health benefits! It’s one of the ‘healthiest foods in the world.’

Sesame seeds are rich in nutrients including phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and iron. They are also a fantastic source of calcium and Vitamins B and E.

Sesame Seeds are 20% protein, which helps to prevent anemia, making them an essential ingredient in vegetarian or vegan diets.
